Welcome to the QB Corporation...

VIEW FROM THE AIR QB Corporation is situated on 45 acres of land or 182,000 square meters. The manufacturing facility, including the pre-grade and sort area, has approximately 75,000 square feet or 7,000 square meters of manufacturing space.
PRE-GRADE AREA Our pregrade area processes approximately 80,000 board feet, or 120 cubic meters, of lumber per day. This facility allows QB Corporation to sort by grade, check moisture content, trim the ends and MSR if necessary. The moisture content is held between 8-14 percent.
DRY KILN The dry kiln holds 38,000 board feet or 60 cubic meters of lumber. The processing time is normally three days.
HOLDING SHED The lumber shed holds approximately 700,000 board feet or 1050 cubic meters of lumber.
HEAT ROOM The heat room average temperature is 140 degrees Fahrenheit or 60 degrees Celsius (centigrade). The length of time required to bring the lumber up to acceptable temperature for gluing is ten minutes. This can vary depending on weather conditions. Outside temperature can range from 95 degrees Fahrenheit or 35 degrees Celsius in summer to minus 40 degrees Fahrenheit or -40 Celsius in winter.
FINGER JOINT TABLE Boards are processed on the finger joint table at approximately twenty boards per minute.
RADIO FREQUENCY TUNNEL The RF (Radio Frequency) Tunnel is 24 feet (7.32 meters) long and is equipped with a 10 + 20 kw generator. Boards are processed at a rate of up to 240 feet per minute (73 meters per minute). Depending on various factors such as inline planning or proof loading.
INLINE PLANING FACLITY The inline planner processes lumber at approximately 140 feet per minute (43 meters per minute).
GLUE SPREADER The automatic glue spreader applies approximately 60 pounds (27.22 kg) per 1000 square feet (92.90 square meters).
GLUE RACK The glue racks hold 80,000 board feet (20 cubic meters) of glulams. Glulams are pressed to 125 foot pounds per square inch (9kg/cm2). floor temperature is kept to a minimum of 70 degrees Fahrenheit (21 degrees Celsius). Glulams stay in the racks for approximately six hours. Maximum sizes without out special consideration would be less than 14-1/4 inches wide (360 millimeters), up to 60 inches (1245 millimeters) deep and under 90 feet long (25,000 millimeters).
BATCH PRESS
BATCH PRESS GOING IN
BATCH PRESS COMING OUT
We have installed an RF (Radio Frequency) batch press which cures glulam beams as they pass through the press. Sections 36 inches high (91.4 millimeters) and 20 feet (6 meters) long are stopped in press, clamped and cured in approximately 3-1/2 minutes. The cured section is then moved forward and the next 20 foot (6 meters) section is moved into place and the process starts over. When completed the glulam beam is moved to the finish department.
FINISH ROOM The automated finish department is capable of processing the many varied products demanded by our customers.
FINISHED BEAMS STACKED and WRAPPED The beams are then wrapped and stacked for shipment.
BEAMS LOADED AND READY TO SHIP Beams are loaded on trucks for delivery to jobsite or yard.
